Hi! We are the family behind Works Farm Dachshunds. We live on a small working farm in southeastern Indiana with our children and a whole collection of animals that keep life busy and entertaining every single day. Between horses, sheep, chickens, and farm chores, there is never a dull moment around here, and our dachshunds are right in the middle of all of it.
Outside of our breeding program, Cameron works as a chemist at a power plant, and Tylor works as a crane operator at a steel mill. Our lives are busy, hardworking, and family-centered, and we believe those values carry over into the way we raise our dogs and puppies.
Even with our work schedules, our dogs are never simply left alone or treated like kennel animals. Between Tylor’s rotating schedule and the constant activity around our home and farm, there is always someone home with the dogs and our children throughout the day. Our dachshunds are deeply involved in everyday family life and receive a tremendous amount of time, attention, and interaction from all of us.
Because we both work full time outside of breeding, our dogs are never viewed simply as a source of income. While our program helps support itself, everything we make goes right back into our dogs, our farm, health testing, quality care, and continually improving our program. We do this because we genuinely love the breed and are deeply passionate about raising healthy, well-rounded dachshunds that reflect everything we admire about them. For us, breeding is not about producing as many puppies as possible. It is about preserving and improving the breed we fell in love with.
Our love for dachshunds started the same way it does for many people: we got one… and then completely fell in love with the breed. Their personalities are truly unlike any other dog. They are stubborn, hilarious, affectionate, loyal, dramatic, intelligent, and somehow always manage to completely run the household while making you love them even more for it.
What began as simply owning and loving dachshunds slowly turned into a passion for raising them responsibly and preserving everything we love about the breed. We became fascinated with pedigrees, genetics, structure, health testing, coat types, and all the little details that go into producing quality puppies. Over time, Works Farm Dachshunds grew into something we are incredibly proud of.
Our dogs are not kennel dogs. They are family dogs. They sleep on couches, follow us from room to room, help supervise farm chores, and are raised right alongside our children. Because of that, our puppies are introduced to everyday life from the very beginning. They grow up around kids, household noise, farm animals, visitors, and all the chaos that naturally comes with family life.
One of our favorite things about dachshunds is how versatile they are. They can spend the afternoon burrowed under a blanket and then turn right around and spend the evening exploring outside with endless curiosity and confidence. We especially love preserving the natural instincts and working ability the breed was originally known for. Our foundation male, Beanie, has been trained in scent work and deer recovery, something that perfectly showcases the intelligence, determination, and incredible noses dachshunds possess.
As a small breeding program, we focus on quality over quantity. We carefully plan each litter with the goal of producing healthy puppies with excellent temperaments, strong structure, and beautiful coats and colors. Every puppy is raised with a tremendous amount of love, time, and attention before they ever leave our home.
We also believe that bringing a puppy into the world is a lifelong responsibility. We deeply care about where our puppies go and love staying connected with the families who welcome them into their homes. No matter their age or circumstance, every puppy bred by Works Farm Dachshunds will always have a home back with us if needed. There is nothing more rewarding than watching our puppies grow up loved and spoiled exactly the way they should be.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our page and learn more about our family, our farm, and our dogs. We are truly grateful for everyone who supports our program and shares our love for this incredible breed.
